Leaving Story Grid

I’m not totally sure how to put this, so I’ll be blunt. I am leaving Story Grid’s Writer Mentorship Program. There have been some recent changes that I’m not happy with, and I don’t want to continue.

I am, however, going to continue working with my mentor, Dave, privately. I really like him, and I feel like we’ve developed a strong kinship in even the short amount of time we’ve been working together. We are just now starting to work on getting book 3 whipped into shape, starting with the story spine. He’s obviously going to need some time to read the first two books before we get too deep in the weeds, but I’m hoping that between his help and what I’ve learned so far, I can turn this ship around.

Still alive

Hey y’all. Just wanted to post something since it’s been a minute.

I’m still going through my mentorship with Story Grid, and I think it’s going well, even though it’s been tough. My mentor, Dave, is really cool and I think a really good fit for me. He tells me like it is, whether it’s good or bad. I feel like I’ve come a long way already in such a short time. I’m excited to continue to improve my writing.

As for book 3, I have been thinking about it recently. My schedule with Story Grid has been to get my “homework” assignment on either Friday or Saturday, with the due date on Tuesday. So I’ve been considering using either Wednesday or Thursday to slowly chip away at revising. I just need to figure out where to start.

Let hope burn in your eyes

Goal 1) Revise BM&A3

  • My Goal: Finish one lesson every two weeks (roughly)
  • Where I planned to be: Lesson 21, complete
  • Where I am: Lesson 21, complete
  • On Target or Behind: On Target

How’s It Going:
Ayo, it’s doooooooone!

Well, the revision, at least. Just gotta do some quick housekeeping bits before I send it off to Audrey.
