I regularly spill coffee on myself, and the tea isn’t getting special treatment

Goal 1) Publish The Atheist’s Inferno

  • My Goal: Finish editor’s revision by end of April, finish final proofread/edit by end of May, 60 pages per day
  • Where I planned to be: 348 pages typed in, editor’s revision COMPLETE
  • Where I am: 348/348 pages typed in, editor’s revision COMPLETE
  • On Target or Behind: On Target

How’s It Going:
Well, the weather seriously threw a wrench in my schedule. There was a huge storm that came through Wednesday evening and knocked out power at my house until almost midnight, so I wasn’t able to get anything done. Thankfully, I was already a little ahead, so I grinded through my 60 pages last night, a lot of which were notebook paper with nothing but handwritten words I had to type in, so I just barely finished before I had to shower and go to bed. (I also went through the other day and pulled out all the pages that were clean, so that knocked out quite a bit as well.) That left me with a whopping 33 more pages to deal with tonight, again with a lot of handwritten pages to type in.

But I am DONE with the editor’s revision! And in equally awesome news, I now have a total wordcount of 54,781.

People are like rocks

I’ve been an absolute trash goblin about posting these updates. So while I take a break and determine if I want to slog through a few more pages tonight or not, here we are.

Goal 1) Publish The Atheist’s Inferno

  • My Goal: Finish editor’s revision by end of April, finish final proofread/edit by end of May, 60 pages per day
  • Where I planned to be: 180 pages typed in
  • Where I am: 225/348 pages typed in
  • On Target or Behind: On Target

How’s It Going:
To try to stay on track to publish by the end of June, I came up with an elaborate plan (read: not actually elaborate, it just involved math) to finish the editor’s revision by the end of this month. The first two weeks I dedicated to a final read-through to fix any last-minute bugs. Done and done. This week and the next I’ve allotted to the type-in, and the magic number of pages I need to touch per working day is 60. I can and have done more, but that’s the bare minimum.

…And I think I’ve decided. I’m exhausted from the day job, I’m on track here, so I’m gonna call it a night.

Don’t try to tell me how some power can corrupt a person

Goal 1) Publish The Atheist’s Inferno

  • My Goal: 1hr a day min, publish by June 31st
  • Where I planned to be: way further
  • Where I am: definitely not done
  • On Target or Behind: Behind

How’s It Going:

I’m still not done with the editor’s revision. I did finish my read through after rearranging everything and writing new scenes, and I think it’s pretty solid now. I want to do one more read through (because I also added a lot of content during the first run) just to make sure everything flows and I’ve got my times straight. Then I’ll type everything in and… Well, I’m not sure if I’ll have Audrey check it over or not. But either way, I’ll be on the home stretch.

Goal 1) Publish The Atheist’s Inferno

  • My Goal: 1hr a day min, finish editor’s revision by the end of March
  • Where I planned to be: New scenes finished
  • Where I am: 1.5 scenes left to write
  • On Target or Behind: Jury’s out

How’s It Going:

I’m really bad at updating apparently. I just started on Concerta Tuesday though, so hopefully I’ll be less dead on the weekends.

Still working on the new scenes. They’re a lot more difficult than I expected.

Go fast eat wax

There I go talking about accountability and I up and forget to post updates anyway. -shrug-

Goal 1) Publish The Atheist’s Inferno

  • My Goal: 1hr a day min, finish editor’s revision by the end of Feb
  • Where I planned to be: 3hrs spent, maybe just shy of halfway through the editor’s revision?
  • Where I am: so many time, in the middle of writing the new scenes I’m adding
  • On Target or Behind: On Target…?

How’s It Going:
So last week I finally finished organizing my scenes into a more balanced order and sketching out the new scenes I’m adding. Now I’ve got all the actual manuscript pages moved around and I’m working on writing out the new scenes. After that, I’ll have to do at least one more read-through to make sure I don’t have any weird continuity issues from shuffling scenes around. I almost accidentally created one when I started writing one of the new scenes, but I caught it about the same time the ink dried.

I think I’ve also already nailed down my copy, or description. I’m still waiting to see if I get any more comments or suggestions on the post I made about it on Holly’s forum, but it feels solid.

I also may or may not be shooting myself in the foot, but I’m looking into some neat new features, and I’ve got some plans. Why yes, I am being intentionally vague.
