There ain’t no pot of gold, just copper tokens

Goal 1) Revise TAP 2

  • My Goal: Finish one lesson every two weeks (roughly)
  • Where I planned to be: Lesson 21, 225/333 pages typed in
  • Where I am: Lesson 21, 262/333 pages typed in
  • On Target or Behind: On Target

How’s It Going:

Chugging along.

Since I’m getting so close to the end here, I’ve started creating my plot skeleton for book 3. I know the basics of 3-4 different conflicts that will happen throughout the majority of the novel, but I feel like there’s one thing I’m missing. I know I’ll trip over it eventually, but the feeling is annoying.

All queer, no fear

Goal 1) Revise TAP 2

  • My Goal: Finish one lesson every two weeks (roughly)
  • Where I planned to be: Lesson 21, 180/333 pages typed in
  • Where I am: Lesson 21, 204/333 pages typed in
  • On Target or Behind: On Target

How’s It Going:
I’m glad this part of the process is easy and not very mentally taxing. Our local Pride festival was today and I am exhausted.

As a fun aside, I went and looked at my pre-revision word count and the word count of the type-in so far. I’ve already gone from 44,928 words to 49,274 words! And yes, I have also cut words. I may hit 50k yet.

“How on Earth do you open this?” “Mmm, C4. Pipe bomb? Chainsaw!”

Goal 1) Revise TAP 2

  • My Goal: Finish one lesson every two weeks (roughly)
  • Where I planned to be: Lesson 21, 135/333 pages typed in
  • Where I am: Lesson 21, 146/333 pages typed in
  • On Target or Behind: On Target

How’s It Going:
I’m so excited to be done with this soon. I can’t wait to have Audrey read it.

I really need to figure out what the hell I’m gonna do about the title/cover.

I’ve started seriously thinking about the plot of book 3. I know what two of the main conflicts are gonna be, I just need to brainstorm how they’re going to play out. Some of the bits and pieces I scribbled down prior to writing book 2 no longer appeal to me and/or don’t fit with the overall theme/tone as much as I thought. I also haven’t quite nailed down how much time will pass between 2 and 3, but I do have some idea about where I want Madison to be at the beginning of the book.

But of course, nothing’s ever carved in stone.

I don’t see a difference

Goal 1) Revise TAP 2

  • My Goal: Finish one lesson every two weeks (roughly)
  • Where I planned to be: Lesson 21, 90/333 pages typed in
  • Where I am: Lesson 21, 100/333 pages typed in
  • On Target or Behind: On Target

How’s It Going:
Swimmingly. In fact, today I discovered an interesting parallel between Madison and Keziah that I never even planned, but it is so fitting, and it only helps what I’m going to do to her in the next book.

Cause I can’t go through three books without torturing my favorite angel. That would just be boring.

Sad songs and waltzes aren’t selling this year

Goal 1) Revise TAP 2

  • My Goal: Finish one lesson every two weeks (roughly)
  • Where I planned to be: Lesson 21, 45/333 pages typed in
  • Where I am: Lesson 21, 45/333 pages typed in
  • On Target or Behind: On Target

How’s It Going:
Purposely trying to go easy on this. Because knowing me, if I don’t pace myself, I will literally plow through half of this sucker in one go. Which probably wouldn’t hurt anything, but man would I be exhausted afterward.
