But would Guy Fieri eat it on a flip flop?

Goal 1) Revise TAP 2

  • My Goal: Finish one lesson every two weeks (roughly)
  • Where I planned to be: Lesson 19 complete
  • Where I am: Lesson 19 complete
  • On Target or Behind: On Target

How’s It Going:

One more read through, and then the type-in. Woo!

I’ve already got the content edit lined up with my previous editor, Audrey. She only did the copyedit last time, but she’s far more available than Matt. She also had wonderful feedback, even for a simple proofread, so I’m looking forward to having her read this.

Gotta keep ’em separated

Goal 1) Revise TAP 2

  • My Goal: Finish one lesson every two weeks (roughly)
  • Where I planned to be: Lesson 19, roughly halfway
  • Where I am: Lesson 19, 130 pages in
  • On Target or Behind: Behind

How’s It Going:

Whoops, forgot to post yesterday.

These last few lessons are so difficult. It’s hard to pay attention to making edits and not get sucked into the story.

Your heart’s not broken, it’s just growing

Goal 1) Revise TAP 2

  • My Goal: Finish one lesson every two weeks (roughly)
  • Where I planned to be: Lesson 18 complete
  • Where I am: Lesson 18 complete
  • On Target or Behind: On Target

How’s It Going:
I think for future novels, I should give myself more time for this lesson. I’m at 333 pages, and dividing that over three days is… a lot. Didn’t think that one through.

On the plus side, I love how this has turned out. May still need to do some tweaks on transitions between scenes, but otherwise, I’m not seeing much more I’ll need to do here before type-in. I’ll still go through the next two lessons anyway, just to be thorough. This is only my third revision, after all. But I can definitely say that going through the revision process has improved my first draft writing significantly.

Also, I’ve been running Amazon ads and some promotions to kind of test why I’m not getting sales. And uh… I’m going to redo the cover for TAP. It also gives me the chance to label it as Book 1 (not that I couldn’t just slap that on the current one, but yanno) and make it jive with the cover for 2. Which I have yet to determine a title for. Or even create. Working on it.

*wicked guitar solo here*

Goal 1) Revise TAP 2

  • My Goal: Finish one lesson every two weeks (roughly)
  • Where I planned to be: Lesson 17 complete
  • Where I am: Lesson 17 complete
  • On Target or Behind: On Target

How’s It Going:

The rough cut is doooooooone!

Now I get to read the thing in the right order. And do some fine tweaking. And then? The type-in.

We’re getting close, folks.

It’s hard enough being alone with myself

Goal 1) Revise TAP 2

  • My Goal: Finish one lesson every two weeks (roughly)
  • Where I planned to be: Lesson 17, 66/73 scenes in
  • Where I am: Lesson 17, 68/73 scenes in
  • On Target or Behind: On Target

How’s It Going:

So close! I’m super happy with where this is at. It really feels like it’s all coming together. There’s still quite a lot to do before it’s ready to publish, but we’re definitely on the downhill slide.

In other news, I’m going to try out some promotion strategies for TAP. So here’s to hoping there’s a few more of you reading these in the near future.
